I spent $600 TALKING to their Lead tec. Support engineer.
They Firmware Tech Support is also WORTHLESS. My FIRST PHONE CALL TO S. Africa ASKED IF L.S.COILS WERE COMPATIBLE WITH THEIR ECU. They said YES! We spent 30? hours doing everything they said. AFTER WE SUPPLIED SCOPE IMAGES SHOWING THE COILS WERE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. They said THEIR firmware was not compatible with LS coils. I said, How much to change the firmware to provide the correct start signal to the coils- THE START SIGNAL THEY LIED ABOUT BEING CORRECT!
THEY SAID CHANGE YOUR COILS. I said F- YOU. We bought an Edelbrock E.C.U
E.C.U. Bench Test Fixture
We built this test fixture. We wanted to make the JUNK P.R.S E.C.U.4 sale think it was seeing a running engine. We made the 8 LS Coils fire on the Test Bench. Then we installed the working system (lol) on the Car. We hooked up a brand new Snap On Modus to the Ignition System. We hit the starter. We RECORDED the signal voltage to the coils. We recorded the R.P.M. the engine was at cranking over. We recorded Lab Scope Images of every signal this piece of shit PRS ECU was producing. We emailed everything to the scumbag PRS tec. I called him $8? per minute? ( total phone bill was $600) He said “oh your engine start rpm must be 300 rpm for the start circuit to properly signal those coils.” So to change the 300 rpm to 100 rpm is a simple firmware change. How do I KNOW this?? I also sent all the scope info to Edelbrock. Edelbrock confirmed what we saw/ suspected. So, at this point, PRS KNOWS WE SPENT $1500 for their ECU. They KNOW they lied – misinformed us as to LS coil compatibility- They KNOW I spent $$$$ calling them. They KNOW we have 40+ hrs setting up the wiring harness. PLUS 30? hr troubleshooting. AND they told us to spend more. Please dont YOU make the mistake of buying ANYTHING that REQUIRES foreign country tec support.
